Today’s techniques and specialized equipment now allow us to provide safe, effective and gentle chiropractic adjustments.
We prefer specialized tools, such as an Impulse IQ, that create less force during an adjustment, and are well suited for older patients, patients with severe pain, or those who are not comfortable with more traditional, manual approaches to chiropractic care.
Combined with some traditional approaches, such as the drop table, we are able to customize treatment plans to meet individual needs and/or preferences.
What is chiropractic?
At Light House Health, we view chiropractic as a way of looking at the human body as a whole, because the body is self-sustaining and self-healing.
As you know, your body is controlled by a very important organ - your brain. Yet the spinal cord and vast network of nerves that carry its messages are just as important because when this system is not functioning at its peak, your body’s overall performance suffers.
In the chiropractic world, we don’t use drugs to treat our patients. Drugs and prescriptions can be viewed as band-aids to treat symptoms rather than treating the source of the problem. Chiropractic is a natural treatment that prompts the body to heal itself. We also encourage better health through supplementation and proper nutrition.
Often, perception is that a chiropractor solely treats back and neck pain, but that is a small piece of what the profession is capable of handling. Chiropractors not only treat soft and hard tissue problems, such as sciatica and joint pain, but are largely called on to deal with many different health issues including fibromyalgia, allergies, insomnia, and headaches.
